Mamonyane’s US Tour
Accompanied by Nancy Dimmock, Sally Harwood and other members of our U.S. board, Executive Director Mamonyane Mohale did a grand tour of the East Coast this spring. She made personal visits to supporting congregations in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland and New York. She also met with our friends at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Paula, California, via Zoom.
At every stop, Mamonyane brought a message of gratitude. During morning worship at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina, Mamonyane said, "If it wasn't because of what you are contributing in this facility, it would have been a problem to feed these children, to provide for their education, to provide for their nutrition. We are given mostly children who are not so healthy, and if it wasn't for your support, we may not have been able to do that."
Nancy Dimmock, who co-founded Ministry of Hope Lesotho, then led the congregation in prayer: "Mamonyane serving in her community a world away teaches us about faithfulness, and love, and about the only sure source of hope in our broken world, which is Jesus Christ. So let's pray for her and the children in her care, and let's pray for each other, that the God of hope will fill us all with joy and peace as we trust in him, so that we may overflow with hope, be a people of hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
