"Come and see."
–John 1:39
There is no better way to appreciate the lifesaving work of Ministry of Hope Lesotho than to witness it in person.
Our next mission trip is taking place in January 2026. If you are interested in coming on a future trip, let us know!
The 2026 Mission Trip
Members of the U.S. board of Ministry of Hope Lesotho will lead a 10-day mission trip to South Africa and Lesotho, from Jan. 22 through Feb. 1, 2026.
Why January?
That’s summertime in Lesotho, so the weather is warm and the children have lots of energy for playing outdoors.
We stay in a comfortable guest house in Maseru, within walking distance of Ministry of Hope. In addition to quality time (play!) with the children, these trips usually involve work projects in and around the household. There is also time set aside to explore Johannesburg and the Lesotho countryside.

What’s the itinerary?
We will depart on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, from the Eastern U.S. (departure city to be determined, but likely Atlanta or New York). We will arrive in Johannesburg on Friday, Jan. 23. We’ll take the rest of that day to shake off the jet lag. Then we’ll visit the renowned Apartheid Museum before we drive to Lesotho.
The complete itinerary is still coming together, but we will spend most of our time with the children and staff at Ministry of Hope. We will take a day to venture out into the beautiful Lesotho countryside for hiking, visiting historical sites and a mountaintop lunch.
We will drive to Johannesburg on Friday, Jan. 30, and fly back to the U.S. on Saturday, Feb. 1.
When will the next trip take place?
We had tremendous interest in our 2026 trip—enough that we have a waiting list of prospective travelers! We anticipate another mission trip in January 2027.
How to Apply
We make these trips available primarily to our supporting congregations and other donors. We also welcome representatives from congregations that are new to Ministry of Hope Lesotho and interested in learning more. Others with an interest in our work are also welcome as space allows.
