New School, Renewed Hope

Beginning in April, a second child from Ministry of Hope Lesotho will be enrolled for speech therapy and special education at the Leseli community school in Maseru.

Katiso is a six-year-old boy who has lived with us since November 2019. Following a recent assessment at the school, he was diagnosed with autism.

Katiso arrived at Ministry of Hope after being abandoned by both parents. He had been living with an aunt who was in failing health. After her death, Katiso and his baby sister had no other home to go to. We saved the life of the critically ill infant and began to nurture both children back to full health. Currently Katiso can hear and follow instructions, but cannot speak.

We are praying that Katiso will follow the path of Tsepang, who has been attending school at Leseli for several years. Tsepang, now 13 years old, has lived with us at Ministry of Hope Lesotho for 10 years. When she arrived, she was unable to walk or to speak. Now, Mamonyane reports that Tsepang is fluent in both Sesotho and English and moves through life with confidence.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Ministry of Hope Lesotho is able to cover the tuition costs at the Leseli community school for both Katiso and Tsepang. If you would like to contribute to their education and care, please visit our Donate page.
