Two mission trips in 2027!

The January 2026 mission trip was such a success, and the interest in participating was so strong, that we have already scheduled our next trip to Lesotho for January 2027. In fact, we have scheduled TWO of them.

We are returning to a model we introduced back in 2023, with two groups of six to eight persons arriving for two, back-to-back visits. Here’s how it will work:

First Trip

Group 1 will depart from the U.S. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, arriving in Johannesburg on Thursday, Jan. 14. We will drive to Maseru, Lesotho, on Saturday, Jan. 16, and return to Johannesburg on Thursday, Jan. 21. Participants will fly back to the U.S. on Friday, Jan. 22.

Second Trip

Group 2 will depart from the U.S. on Thursday, Jan. 21, arriving in Johannesburg on Friday, Jan. 22. We will drive to Maseru, Lesotho, on Saturday, Jan. 23, and return to Johannesburg on Friday, Jan. 29. Participants will fly back to the U.S. on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Nancy Dimmock, co-founder, and Sally Harwood, president of the U.S. board, will host both groups. Both trips will include visits to the powerful Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, a drive (and a hike) through the beautiful Lesotho countryside, fun work projects (really!) at Ministry of Hope Lesotho and a lot play time with the children.

We will host online information sessions later this year to discuss costs, itinerary and other matters. But if you have questions now, drop us a line. And if you are ready to sign up, let us know that, too! We would love to have you come along.

If you want a glimpse of the mission trip experience, read about Rachel Portillo’s experience this past January. We will update our Visit Us page as more details about the 2027 trips come into focus.
